John 6:35 “And Yeshua said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that comes to me shall never hunger; and he that believes on me shall never thirst.” John 6:51 "I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live forever..." Luke 4:4 “It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of YHVH.” The Mission We have been called to share the story of Messiah, i.e., Yeshua HaMashiach (Jesus of Nazareth) by providing every man an answer to why we believe that Jesus is Messiah and alive ruling in our hearts accomplishing the Father's will on earth as it is in Heaven; unite Jew and non-Jew believers in worship of YHVH (the Father) together thru Yeshua Who has broken down the middle wall of partition; make disciples by teaching through inspiration of the Ruach HaKodesh the Law, Prophets and Brit Chadashah; and function as a Torah-observant community by feeding the hungry, healing the sick, freeing the captive, and ministering to the widow and orphan, i.e., doing that what we have been called to do in this life (good works). Our mission is not to convert Jews to Christianity as some might fear. On the contrary, we hope to teach Torah and correct years of bad doctrine that many in the Christian Church are taught and believe. Profile BLC was formally established February 2002 by a few families called out from different Christian denominations to keep and take delight in the Sabbath. We invite you to cease from all your own work and assemble with us to keep and take delight in Shabbat. Though every day of the week should be a day of worship we believe the 7th day of the week is the day we are specifically commanded to observe as a day of rest from our 8-5 jobs in the world and assemble with other believers in worship (study, prayer, praise, good works). We observe Saturday as Sabbath. Now of course Saturday falls on different times depending upon where you live on the earth. The main point is are you keeping a day of rest and holy as G-d directs? The Sabbath was a gift given to all mankind in Genesis and is a sign between G-d and His people (the people of Israel). Even our work animals are to rest on this holy day. After working 6 days all mankind is to rest on the 7th day. Taking a rest from buying and selling, cooking, lifting burdens etc. does our mind and bodies good. The consequence from purposely profaning the Sabbath is a cutting off from the people of Israel and death. Just as important though is recognizing the spiritual meaning of keeping Sabbath. Keeping Sabbath means that we are to put our faith and trust in G-d by trusting on His provisions for us. Messiah Yeshua is the provision we are to rest in on this day and every day. We don't put our trust in the government, others or even ourselves but we solely trust Him to provide for our every need on this day. We don't have to work for a living on this day, we don't have to lift our own burdens on this day, and we don't even have to pleasure ourselves on this day. We forget our burdens, jobs and pleasures and focus our attention to Abba and His will for us on this holy day. We take delight in the day He has given to us. Our Hope Our hope is to unite Jewish and non-Jewish believers from all denominations in the worship and knowledge of YHVH, the G-d of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob through His Son Yeshua (Jesus) HaMashiach. For Jews who have come to faith in YHVH's promised redeemer Yeshua our prayer is that you feel loved and comfortable in our services. That you invite others to BLC to be persuaded that Yeshua is the promised HaMashiach. For non-Jews (the wild olive branches) who have been grafted into the good olive tree our hope is that you learn of the Hebraic roots of your faith and that you grow in love for the people and land of Israel and better understand your relationship to them and bless them with the good news of their Jewish Messiah---Yeshua. May we all worship and learn together in the spirit of unity and love. Services Praise: Our songs of praise are in both the Hebrew and English languages. Prayer: "It is written, My house shall be called a house of prayer..."
